Skin Care Products: Clay and witch hazel eye mask
This astringent mask is particularly useful for the fragile skin around the eyes. To use on the face and neck, multiply all the quantities by three for application and removal.
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon witch hazel hydrolat (a by-product of steam distillation, created while extracting essential oil)
1 tablespoon cornflower hydrolat
1 tablespoon white or green clay powder
still bottled water
METHOD
Add the witch hazel and cornflower hydrolats to the clay and leave to rest for 30 minutes without stirring. Then mix well to make a smooth paste.
Apply a thin layer very gently around the eyes and leave for approx. 10 minutes. Rinse carefully with still bottled water and pat dry.
VARIATION
Substitute rosewater hydrolat for the cornflower for a more toning effect.
