6 Major Causes of Wrinkles

6 Major Causes of Wrinkles

1. Natural or “intrinsic” Aging
Natural, biologic aging is responsible for the inevitable thinning of our skin accompanied by the loss of structural collagen and elastic tissue. The good news is that this biologic aging is the least important of the causes of Wrinkles on your face.

2. Sun damage
The sun is responsible for at least 90% of the appearance of skin aging. The sun is the most destructive and also the most preventable of the causes of Wrinkles . The sun causes the skin to take on a leathery texture, with permanently etched deep creases. No one wants their face to look and feel like a thickened hide! You can prevent these deep, sun-induced Wrinkles by applying a high-protection sunscreen and always wearing a hat.

3. Your facial expressions
While the sun is largely responsible for most of your Wrinkles , it is your facial experiences that causes all the furrows that become imprinted on your face. Once again, there is hope! Many of these deep creases are indeed avoidable, and all of them are treatable!
The human face is indeed exquisite in its ability to communicate so profoundly through expression. Indeed, it is remarkable that wrinkling your face thousands of times each day – and hundreds of millions of times in your lifetime – results I n so few lasting facial markings. Although most facial movements are essential and attractive, you can learn to avoid or minimize certain nervous habits, such as wrinkles the nose when laughing, wrinkles the forehead to show sincerity or incredulity, or grimacing unnecessary when watching television. By observing other people’s expressions, you can see why their Wrinkles and creases form. But how can you recognize your own habits? It’s not easy to observe your own face in action. To learn something about your subtle, often unconscious facial movements, you might ask a good friend to observe your habitual facial expressions.
Alternatively, you can keep a mirror near your telephone to observe your own facial expressions as you speak, noting exaggerated or unnecessary movements. If you squint when you read or drive, get glasses. If your eyes are sensitive to the sun, wear sunglasses.

4. Your Sleeping Position
The average person sleeps for 1/4 to 1/3 of his or her life. By the time you reach 60 years old, you will have slept for 15 - 20 years. What you my not be aware of is that while you have been sleeping, you have spent 6 – 8 hours each day pressing Wrinkles into your face.
A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can almost always recognize the side on which you tend to sleep because your Wrinkles are deeper on that side. If you sleep with your arm over your face, you may actually be pushing extra Wrinkles into one side of your face.
You can prevent creases appearing on your faces by sleeping on your backs. You can easily learn to sleep in a different position. To develop the habit and to make this position more comfortable, just place a pillow under you knees.

5. Smoking
Cigarette smoking actually accentuates facial Wrinkles ! You can often immediately recognize long-term cigarette smokers by their Wrinkles : smokers in their 40s often have as many facial Wrinkles as nonsmokers in their 0s. Particularly prominent in smokers are tiny Wrinkles spreading from upper and lower lids.
If you continues smoking, you will not look as good as you might, and your skin will inevitable suffer considerable damage.

6. Gravity
Gravity does affect how we look. Gravity probably contributes to the gradual elongation of our earlobes and nose. And as we age, gravity pulls our skin down! With the natural thinning of our skin with age and loss of underlying fat comes drooping, especially of eyelids and jowls.
Resorption (or shrinking) of bone usually accelerates as we reach our late 50s or 60s. Especially prominent can be the regression of jawbone and cheek bones, which in turn contribute to sagging jowls.
Another causes of gravity induced Wrinkles is major weight loss. If you allow yourself to become overweight or obese, you skin has no choice but to stretch to accommodate. As you lost that extra weight, your may suffer not only from stretch marks, but also from have excess skin!
The key to retarding this immutable force of gravity on your skin is prevention. Do not let yourself become overweight. Always exercise to protect your muscles and bones. Eat a healthy diet to provide your system with essential supplements.
